>>> Me and Internet Businesses <<<

June 27th, 2007 by [re-arrange] 1 comment »

Okay, first of all, I’d like to say that I am not a good Internet entrepreneur. Actually, I’m not good in making money, be it any business. But yes, at one point of my life, I was registering quite a lot of programmes, trying to scrape money (kunun-kunun nak buat bayar duit bilik lah! tongue), but in fact, I never get any pennies (luckily I still have my own pen.. err nevermind tongue)

It never hit my frontal lobe again if not for Ron suddenly asking me about Internet businesses. He shows quite a great interest in it, and even shows me some new programmes like SlashMySearch: Search N Earn and MarketingPond

So in my bored lonely time, I check the Internet again, for all the programmes that I once had enrolled my butt into. Thanks to Gmail search function, where it can list down all the emails I once received. Let’s reviewed it one by one huh? (This will include some of the new programme that I enrolled. hehe tongue)

************************************************************************************

1) SlashMySearch: Search N Earn

Simple search engine with a function of “the more you search, the more you earn“. Its result is not as great as Google, but not bad either. And as far as I know, this engine has affiliation with Yahoo!, so, you may find that the search result is more or less quite like it. By the way, I love the Snap preview of website, its cool!

How does it track whether you use it or not? Simple implementation of cookies. You need to enable cookies and cache, and MUST not delete it when you close your browser. Then, set the search engine as your home page (the first page loaded when you open your browser), login once, and it will start tracking.

So far, I’ve gained $0.10. One day work of search. Not much, I shall say. But definitely not a scam of pyramid scheme or whatsnot.

And as usual, if you want to gain more, do it by referring it to others under your specific ID. Affiliations stuff. If you want to, why not click mine here and register? tongue Its free by the way.

2) Marketing Pond

This is more of a portal. A collection of programmes, where with one referral link, you can enrol for many programmes and earn money separately. This site will also help you to promote your link for each programmes, so that you can earn extra with extra referrals.

Their business nature is more to marketing and advertising. They advertise sites for other companies, people come and register for that companies, and the companies pay the referrals. Easy concept.

SlashMySearch, MyLot, and many “click to earn” companies (like ClixSense, AdBux, AdBuddy, where they ask people to view or click ads and get paid) are listed here. So if you register quite a lot of programmes, you don’t have to remember it all. Remember this page, and you will find all the links of your enrolled programmes.

3) MyLot

Here’s a community where your say got paid! Good for people who loves forumming like me, and loves to post long replies. The better your post, the better you will get. I register this 5 month back, and I posted 2 replies only, tongue, but I gained $0.50. Now that’s my 50 cent worth of post! lol.

But only one drawback. The user interface is not good enough. Seriously. Somehow it doesn’t feel like forum or BB. Urgh, maybe I’m too used to phpBB like Grapevine or Kampung5.

To register, click here.

************************************************************************************

Actually there is a lot more; but with my findings of Marketing Pond, it is all concluded in it. I entered 6 “click ads and get paid” programmes, which I figured if I’m bored enough, clicking ads will be fun tongue

I can say that the programmes that I’ve introduced above is legal in the scope of legislation and religion, and its not a scam (meaning, they will pay you as promised). Their nature of business is simply marketing and advertising, with an implementation of trafic exchange between websites. All those statistics do mean money to them, and they give us just a little (and when I mean a little, its really.. a little. As an example, one page click will result in $0.01 payment, one post result in $0.02 payment.)

One word of advice; you won’t be rich by doing this alone or doing this only. As for me, I do this for fun, for some little spare money to purchase my ciggie.

And beware of scam! If it ask you for money, don’t. We never know if we could get the return or not, aight? (btw, the programmes listed above is free, so it doesn’t matter. I have a lot of free time now tongue)

That’s it people. Click it click it click it! tongue

>>> Rise and Fall <<<

I don’t even know about this song, and I even forget that I have the video in my box! hehe. So I bored at home, and listening to this song, well, lets say that it reminds me of the word “humility”.

Nice song, nice lyric, nice day… =)

Lyric:

[c/o]
Sometimes in life you feel the fight is over,
And it seems as though the writings on the wall,
Superstar you finally made it,
But once your picture becomes tainted,
It’s what they call,
The rise and fall
[x2]

I always said that I was gonna make it,
Now it’s plain for everyone to see,
But this game I’m in don’t take no prisoners,
Just casualties,
I know that everything is gonna change,
Even the friends I knew before me go,
But this dream is the life I’ve been searching for,
Started believing that I was the greatest,
My life was never gonna be the same,
Cause with the money came a different status,
That’s when things change,
Now I’m too concerned with all the things I own,
Blinded by all the pretty girls I see,
I’m beginning to lose my integrity

[c/o]
Sometimes in life you feel the fight is over,
And it seems as though the writings on the wall,
Superstar you finally made it,
But once your picture becomes tainted,
It’s what they call,
The rise and fall

I never used to be a troublemaker,
Now I don’t even wanna please the fans,
No autographs, No interviews, No pictures,
Endless demands,
Give into vice that was clearly wrong,
The type that seems to make me feel so right,
But some things you may find can take over your life,
Burnt all my bridges now I’ve run out of places,
And there’s nowhere left for me to turn,
Been caught in comprimising situations,
I should have learnt,
From all those times I didn’t walk away,
When I knew that it was best to go,
Is it too late to show you the shape of my heart,

[c/o]
Sometimes in life you feel the fight is over,
And it seems as though the writings on the wall,
Superstar you finally made it,
But once your picture becomes tainted,
It’s what they call,
The rise and fall

Now I know,
I made mistakes,
Think I don’t care,
But you, don’t realise what this means to me,
So let me have just one more chance,
I’m not the man I used to be,
Used to beeeeeeeeeee~~

>>> Of Contract versus Permanent <<<

Simple update and simple dillema for this post -

Good news first: I got a job back at IBM. IT Specialist – Information Management, under IBM Virtual Innovation Center. Not my old business unit back in internship, though, but still in the same department, which mean I will be seeing the same ol faces again.

Not so bad news then: I didn’t get the chance to negotiate a higher salary. Kinda regret putting only RM2300, because they just accepted it. How if I put higher, say, RM2500 or RM2600? :P RM2300 when deducted for EPF SOCSO and all that stuff, I ended up RM2000 only. cis.

ya.. aku materialistik.. :P

Kinda bad news for me at least: This job is contract. That is actually not a problem or bad news. The bad news is my documents are delayed by the agency (you know, when you are hired for contract, you will be passed to an agency to run all your offer letter and contract and stuff). Grr! I suppose to start by next Monday on 2/7, but got delayed instead to 4/7. Ok thats not a bad news I guess. :P But I hate to get my offer delayed.

Jangan tetibe dia cancel.. mmg aku bom IBM.

Dillema: The job is contract. That is the dillema. Not that I have anything against contract worker or whatsnot, but, quoting my dad.. “Bape lama nak jadik contract?”, “Korg ni da jadik mcm barang dagangan laa plak, kene anta2 agency ni agency tu..”

Now people, what’s your opinion on being contract or permanent? How do you feel if you are being a contract worker? What’s your plan if you being a contract worker?

Because seriously.. I’m quite blur about it.
