Because You Loved Me – Charice and Celine Dion

September 4th, 2010 by [re-arrange] 5 comments »

I’ve always like Charice due to her ability to sing the high notes. This video might be a bit old since now Charice already has her fortune in Glee and all, but whenever this clip is being played again and again in the Hallmark channel for the Oprah Moments slot, it always make my skins goes… err… meremang. (Damn tetibe malam ni tak dapat carik the word for meremang. HAHA tongue).

Well, I’m feeling a bit lovey-dovey tonight, so I dedicate this song to my lovely girl, Kinkin dengan ucapan -

“Because you loved me, you’ve made this tiny man feel blessed and changed. You were there when I was down. For all the things that we’ve been through, it makes me only more and more – in love with you.”

I miss you sayang.. mwah mwah!! kiss

Lyrics

For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right

For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I’ll be forever thankful, baby

You’re the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You’re the one who saw me through
Through it all

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn’t speak
You were my eyes when I couldn’t see
You saw the best there was in me

Lifted me up when I couldn’t reach
You gave me faith ’cause you believed
I’m everything I am
Because you loved me, ooh, baby

You were always there for me, the tender wind that carried me
The light in the dark shining your love into my life
You’ve been my inspiration; through the lies, you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn’t speak
You were my eyes when I couldn’t see
You saw the best there was in me

Lifted me up when I couldn’t reach
You gave me faith ’cause you believed
I’m everything I am
Because you loved me

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn’t speak
You were my eyes when I couldn’t see
You saw the best there was in me

Lifted me up when I couldn’t reach
You gave me faith ’cause you believed
I’m everything I am
Because you loved me

I’m everything I am
Because you loved me

Review: Jodi Picoult – Plain Truth

September 2nd, 2010 by [re-arrange] 7 comments »

It’s been a while since I review a book, eh? Here’s another review about a novel that I’ve managed to complete last two weeks – Jodi Picoult’s Plain Truth. I’ve bought it online last two months if I’m not mistaken, and only managed to complete it quite recently.

The story begins with a scene describing an eighteen years old Amish girl delivering a baby by her own self in a barnyard at two o’clock in the morning. She managed to deliver the baby, cut the cords, and cuddling her baby; and then she felt asleep due to exhaustion. She prayed that the baby would be gone since it is conceived out of wedlock, and nobody knew that she’s been pregnant. When she woke up some hours later, the baby is gone.

It seems that her prayers have been answered. Or did they?

A few hours later, when the morning sun has beautifully shine the farm, the child’s body is found – lying dead covered in hay — and of course, Katie Fisher is the prime suspect in murdering her own child.

Or did she?

This novel has beautifully described the Amish community; a group of devoted Christian that lived in a traditional way without technology and even electricity. The mindfuck factor in this novel is: how can a devoted Christian girl be willingly having sex and be pregnant out of wedlock, and even goes further by murdering her own child? It reveals the most misguided emotions of human and how does a mother would react in protecting her child, maternal issues, and it also goes beyond that – it argues about neonaticide instinct in a mother.

Somehow, someway, I would recommend this book to those kids who have been throwing away their babies on the street. It reflects how a religious community can still be misguided and how love can be misinterpreted into something physical act that leds to another. Not only that, it also describes how certain mothers would do anything just to get a baby – which is being portrayed by the character Ellie, Katie’s defense attorney.

Jodi Picoult as usual makes her novels to be gripping at the start, slowing down in the middle, add more conflicts while nearing the end, and ended it with a bang and twisted closing. If you have been enjoying “Keeping Faith”, or “Nineteen Minutes”, then this book follows that kinda trend of writing. The advantage of this book is that the ending is so unexpected winking

It’s not so depressing, but it can give you mindfuck momentarily. Suitable to be read while in stress (since the issue of maternity can be quite soothing and it is slow), and it is not so stressing compared to other book like Sister Keeper’s. Yeah, it’s introduction is gripping that you will not let go in the first five to six chapters, but then the middle is quite slow you can break the reading into multiple days. But again, the ending might make you goes WTF! laughing

So, mommy, mommy-to-be: this can be a good read for you too. Jamie, maybe this book will give you a different perspective on parenting.  Dils, wanna try? Disclaimer: Not suitable for those pregnant woman. Nad, tunggu kau bersalin boleh la baca kot. Kang anak kau mengikut ke terkenan ke aku tak bertanggungjawab! laughing

Paderi Melayu Yang Baru Tiba Di Singapura Adalah Tipu!

This post is going to be in Malay. If you want to read it in English, please go directly to the original source where I get it from: StewardJohn – Malay Priest from Singapore? Totally Fake!

Note: This post is in sticky mode for this week. For more updated post, scroll down or check the sidebar for the last 12 posts. Update 4 Sept: Sticky mode removed.

Kebenaran sebenarnya (the truth is.. OMG it sounds so different when translated), ini adalah gambar dua paderi dari Sabah dan Indonesia yang berbangsa Cina dan Kadazan. BUKAN MELAYU.

Quote dari sumber asal berita ini adalah:

“The 2 priests in the picture is Rev. Fr. Paulus Toni Tantiono OFM Capuchin from Pontianak, Kalimantan  and currently teaching Bible Study in Seminari Tinggi Permatang Siantar Sumatera Utara, Indonesia and the other priest standing at his back is Rev. Fr. Nicholas Stephen from Penampang, Sabah and currently serving at St. John’s parish Tuaran, Sabah. Fr. Paulus is a Chinese descendent while Fr. Nicholas Stephen is a Kadazan descendant.“

Hah! Mana datang Melayu nya? Nama pun dah sah-sah bukan Melayu. Mana datang Razman Zakri tu? Korang ni memanglah. Tengok orang tu hensem-hensem Melayu sikit (macam..err..oklah macam Munir. Aku tak hensem comel je muahaha! tongue) pakai jubah paderi, terus korang Melayukan ek? Itu memang Cina dan Kadazan lor! Ho liau!

Aku bukanlah nak cakap yang aku ni menyokong paderi memurtadkan Islam ke hape, tapi sebelum percaya bulat-bulat benda dari Internet ni, lain kali research dulu! Selidik betul-betul! Ini tak. Suka-suki korang je buat fitnah sana sini. Niat nak menambah pahala konon-kononnya di bulan puasa, turns out jadi dosa je korang. Paling-paling kurang jadi dosa menipu.

Memang nice combination laa untuk menakutkan orang Melayu ni: paderi + air Holy Water + gambar + cruel intention to destroy our creed. How dense and how stupid can we be to believe Internet rumours? WTF? *sigh*

Hah, bila dah berbunuhan tu, nak salahkan siapa? Bulan Ramadhan bukan ke syaitan dah kena ikat?
