>>> Good Samaritans Being Punished <<<

April 19th, 2007
I’m not a good politician or a vivid politician readers. For me, politic’s sucks. I never want to involve with it, especially about nation whatsoever. Ignorant I am, plus I don’t register for voting even though my dad keeps babbling me about responsibility and stuff.

But seeing good Samaritans being punished for saving a son is quite annoying. I mean, the kid has been home safe and sound, how in the hell all the conspiracy about kidnapping and begging arise? True, we should not trust anybody in this world due to its sickness, but people who did some nice effort keeping a life alive being punished is even sicker.

Yes people, I’m talking about Yin who has been lost for 14 days after being in Sogo with his family. I’m not saying I’m 100% on the Myanmar couple sides, but there’s no thanks from the family. That’s dumb and ignorant.

Talking about dumb and ignorant, I’d say that the Myanmar couple is another dumb. Not knowing a manhunt is going? For two weeks? That’s real dumb. But doing a good charity and being punished?

I was stunned by this case. Its just another prove that the world is getting sicker. Maybe I should get myself a gun in case I’m being kidnapped lol!

Ah talking bout gun, then its better to talk about another cases. Again, Samaritans being punished. Well not to say good, because it was random. Yerp, the rampage case in University of Virginia, where Korean students were shooting random targets in their hostels and classes.

I gotta admit, it looks cool. How about me being able to have some handgun, walk into Pocket D, and shoot all the people whom I hate for being so close-minded, walk out, and try to break from UTP without being catch? (Okay that sounds like infection of Prison Break.. tongue)

But true, machines, pistols, guns, are more powerful nowadays. You have it, you owned the world. Just see what happened to the Myanmar couples. If they have the pistols, would they be so dumb to return the kid just like that and being caught? And see what happened in Virginia (mispronounced it can lead to virginity.. lol tongue)

And to keep my thoughts to rest, let’s just conclude it as – machine are more ideal to be dealt with. People aren’t.

P/s: Why in the hell do I care about this people? Sheesh. You better read Genjo’s blog for this type of post. I’m not good at it, at all.

>>> Dealing With People <<<

April 9th, 2007
Okay third post for tonight. Chunna, Mia, Mangi, this post will not be good to be heard.

K5 is in problem.

It starts on Sunday afternoon. Somebody tried to attack K5 with DoS (Denial of Service) attack. As the records shows, 7000++ guest users online and connecting at that time, consuming the rig’s CPU and RAM utilization to 100%. And the attack goes to K5 domain name; which means, the url kampung5.homeip.net. When K5 is being up using the IP, it shows no attack.

It was inner work by the UTP student itself who are 1337 enough to be called hackers. Wadieq has implemented secured http (https) connection to avoid that anonymous connection and it work for a little time. An IP has been identified.

Rage boiled. People start posting about it, cursing the damn hackers. Well, what can you expect?

Because of that, the second wave comes through this evening. MySQL attack. Suddenly there is another root admin account called k5, suspending two users, and editting the layout that enabled some disabled link. The cursing post being deleted without a log, and cannot be recovered. Password database being deleted. Moderator’s list being deleted.

All the admins tried to save K5, and we revert K5 back to a day before (that is the last backup), alongside with some settings tweaking to undo the damage being done. Not long enough, (the 2nd wave comes in about 4 to 6 pm, and this 3rd wave comes in 7pm) K5 has been down again. MySQL crash.

For now we are still trying to discover what really are the reason(s) for all these attacks. Is it personal? Is it not? Are some of the threads offends some party? Or some of the users post? Right now, it has been too many rumours, too many speculations, too many version of stories that my mind has become a total rejector to all stories whether they are true or not.

But seeming at these conditions, we are at our edge of patience. Maybe, if someone really doesn’t want K5 to live, we will need to take it down for good. *sigh* And as for this entry being written, K5 is still down with no signs of ressurection.

Once, I respected all hackers. I even followed their principle of stfu and rtfm (even though I’m no hackers, seriously, my knowledge is far too limited to only theories read in the book. I’m too lazy to try). But coming to this point, seriously, revenge in virtual for some old grudge? Its too childish. I condemned this behaviour. This alter ego is just too fucked up. What the hell? You want to take over all the virtual power? You want to stop the freedom of speech?? Duhhh!!

I hate to say this, but this is no more about dealing with machine. It is about dealing with people. Just why oh why, can’t we live in harmony? Its true and prove that “we can’t satisfy everybody in this world“.

Let us pray for the survival of K5 as our medium of expression. We have been through a lot this semester..
